Hillside Development Council  Covering the area south east of the University of Washington, Tacoma. Membership of the Hillside Development Council (HDC) consists of property owners, business owners, workers, and residents. HDC's primary areas of emphasis are public safety and working to provide a more vibrant area to work, live and invest.

Safe Streets Campaign Weed & Seed Program
Funded by the US Dept of Justice. Strategies are to "weed-out" crime in the targeted neighborhoods, and "seed-in" social service programs and neighborhood restoration. Weeding Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month from 6-7pm @ the First Church of the Nazarene, 3640 So. M Street; from 7-8pm the group has educational presentations for the community. These presentations are open to anyone in the City of Tacoma.

Tacoma Avenue Coalition
Focusing on the Tacoma Avenue Area. The Tacoma Ave. Coalition is compiled of agencies, business owners, residents, non-profits, and local law enforcement. The group's goal is to keep the area clean and promote a safe environment. This group meets on the third Wednesday of the month from 5:30-6:30pm at the Carpenters Hall at 1322 Fawcett Street, people are welcome to join the group's activities at any time, and we welcome individuals that are motivated to support these efforts.
