The City of Tacoma Public Works Department will close the sidewalks on the Tacoma Avenue South Bridge. The sidewalk closure was recommended by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) after a recent bridge inspection. WSDOT bridge inspection crews found cracking in the sidewalk face and as a pre-cautionary measure Public Works will follow the WSDOT recommendation.
