To start your business, you must register with the Washington Secretary of State. You will find ways to form your business and register it.
Once your business is registered, you will need to register it with the Washington State Department of Revenue. This will be to pay the sales tax, excise taxes, and to file your reports.
If you employ any person in the state of Washington, you must register to pay your unemployment and other payroll taxes with the Employment Security Department.
To do business in the City of Tacoma, you must apply for a business license and follow all of the steps that the city and county require. You will find more information about permits and licenses on the city’s website.
